[292] Now at that time a certain bhikkhu spoke in praise of a certain bhikkhu's superhuman state (uttarimanussadhamma). That bhikkhu too said, "Friend, my taints (āsava), too, are abandoned." He was remorseful … "Bhikkhu, you have committed an offence entailing defeat (pārājika)."
Now at that time a certain bhikkhu spoke in praise of a certain bhikkhu's superhuman state. That bhikkhu too said, "Friend, these qualities are found in me too." He was remorseful. He reported this matter to the Blessed One. "Bhikkhu, you have committed an offence entailing defeat."
