[443] A man sends a bhikkhu: "Go, venerable sir; say to the woman named so-and-so — one guarded (sārakkhā) together with one protected by threat of punishment (saparidaṇḍā); one guarded together with one protected by her mother; one guarded together with one protected by her father; one guarded together with one protected by her mother and father; one guarded together with one protected by her brother; one guarded together with one protected by her sister; one guarded together with one protected by her relatives; one guarded together with one protected by her clan; one guarded together with one protected by the law (dhamma) — 'Be, it is said, the wives of so-and-so, as wives bought with money (dhanakkītā).'" He accepts, he inquires, he brings back the reply: an offense of saṅghādisesa.
