[493] Now at that time a certain man commanded a certain bhikkhu: "Go, venerable sir, sound out the woman named so-and-so." Having gone, he asked the people: "Where is the woman named so-and-so?" "She is asleep, venerable sir." He became remorseful, thinking: "Could it be that I have committed an offence entailing a saṅghādisesa?" He informed the Blessed One of this matter. "Bhikkhu, there is no offence entailing a saṅghādisesa; there is an offence of wrongdoing (dukkaṭa)."
Now at that time a certain man commanded a certain bhikkhu: "Go, venerable sir, sound out the woman named so-and-so." Having gone, he asked the people: "Where is the woman named so-and-so?" "She is dead, venerable sir." He became remorseful … "Bhikkhu, there is no offence entailing a saṅghādisesa; there is an offence of wrongdoing."
