[510] "By his own begging" (saññācikā) means: having himself begged for a man, and for one who does a man's work … even for a spade (nikhādana). "Hut" (kuṭī) means: it is plastered within, or plastered without, or plastered both within and without. "Should have built" means: he builds it, or has it built. "Or without bringing bhikkhus to designate the site, or should exceed the measure" means: not having had the site for the hut designated by a formal act with a motion and one announcement (ñattidutiya-kamma), or exceeding [the measure] in length or in breadth even by so much as a hair's tip, he builds it or has it built — in the effort there is an offense of wrong-doing (dukkaṭa). When one lump [of plaster] has yet to come, there is an offense of grave transgression (thullaccaya). When that lump has come, there is an offense entailing a formal meeting of the Saṅgha (saṅghādisesa). "Saṅghādisesa" means … for that reason too it is called "saṅghādisesa."
