[580] "A pretext concerning the teacher (ācariya-lesa)" means: a pupil of so-and-so has been seen committing a pārājika offense; having seen another pupil of so-and-so, he accuses him: "The pupil of so-and-so was seen by me committing a pārājika offense — you have committed a pārājika offense; you are no ascetic, you are no son of the Sakyan …" or "… a formal act of the Saṅgha (saṅghakamma)" — for each utterance there is an offense of saṅghādisesa.
