[581] "Pretext of lodging (senāsanalesa)" means: the occupant of the lodging of so-and-so has been seen committing an act entailing defeat (pārājika). Having seen another occupant of the lodging of so-and-so, he accuses him: "The occupant of the lodging of so-and-so has been seen by me committing an act entailing defeat. You are no ascetic (samaṇa), you are no son of the Sakyans; there is no Uposatha, or Pavāraṇā, or act of the Saṅgha (saṅghakamma) together with you." For each utterance, there is an offense of saṅghādisesa.
