[199] "Venerable sir, the Brahmā Sanaṅkumāra spoke on this matter. Venerable sir, while the Brahmā Sanaṅkumāra was speaking on this matter, the gods perceived only the voice, each thinking: 'He who sits upon my couch — he alone speaks.'
When one is speaking,
all the created forms (nimmitā) speak;
when one sits in silence,
they all remain silent.
Then those gods imagine —
the Tāvatiṃsa gods together with their Indra —
'He who is upon my couch,
he alone speaks.'"
