[243] Their servants came — wielders of illusion (māyāvino),
deceitful and crafty —
the tricksters Kuṭeṇḍu and Veṭeṇḍu,
and Viṭū together with Viṭuṭa;
and Candana and Kāmaseṭṭha,
Kinnughaṇḍu and Nighaṇḍu;
Panāda and Opamañña,
and Mātali, charioteer of the devas;
Cittasena the gandhabba came too,
King Naḷa, and Janosabha;
and Pañcasikha came as well,
with Timbarū and Suriyavacchasā.
These and other kings besides,
gandhabbas together with their kings,
rejoicing, came forth
to the wood, to the assembly of the bhikkhus (bhikkhū).
Then came the nāgas of Nābhasa,
those of Vesālī together with the Tacchakas;
the Kambalas and the Assataras came,
and those of Payāga together with their kin;
those of the Yamunā and the Dhataraṭṭhas came,
nāgas of great renown;
and Erāvaṇa the great nāga —
he too came to the meeting in the wood.
