[102] Cunda, even if a holy life (brahmacariya) is endowed with these factors, but the teacher is not an elder (thera), not of long standing, not long gone forth, not advanced in years, not arrived at the final stage of life — then that holy life is incomplete in that respect. But when, Cunda, a holy life is endowed with these factors, and the teacher is an elder, of long standing, long gone forth, advanced in years, arrived at the final stage of life — then that holy life is complete in that respect.
