[110] Thus have I heard. On one occasion the Blessed One was dwelling at Sāvatthī, in Jeta's Grove, Anāthapiṇḍika's Park. There the Venerable Sāriputta addressed the bhikkhus: "Friends, bhikkhus!" "Friend," those bhikkhus replied to the Venerable Sāriputta. The Venerable Sāriputta said this: "'Right view (sammādiṭṭhi), right view,' friends, it is said. In what way, friends, is a noble disciple (ariyasāvaka) one of right view, whose view has become straight, who is endowed with unwavering confidence (aveccappasāda) in the Dhamma, and who has arrived at this true Dhamma (saddhamma)?"
"Indeed, friend, we would come even from afar to learn the meaning of this statement in the presence of the Venerable Sāriputta. It would be good if the meaning of this statement would become clear to the Venerable Sāriputta himself; having heard it from the Venerable Sāriputta, the bhikkhus will bear it in mind."
"Then, friends, listen and attend closely; I shall speak." "Yes, friend," those bhikkhus replied to the Venerable Sāriputta.
