[190] Sāriputta, there are some ascetics and brahmins who hold such a doctrine, such a view: "Purity comes about through sacrifice (yañña)." But, Sāriputta, it is not easy to find a sacrifice that has not been offered by me before in this long course of time — and that as a king, an anointed khattiya, or as an affluent brahmin.
