Rathavinītasutta

Suttapiṭaka · Majjhimanikāya · Vol. 12 · Section 293

[293] Now on that occasion the Venerable Sāriputta was seated not far from the Blessed One. Then this thought occurred to the Venerable Sāriputta: "It is a gain for the Venerable Puṇṇa Mantāṇiputta, it is well gained by the Venerable Puṇṇa Mantāṇiputta, that his wise companions in the holy life speak his praise point by point in the presence of the Teacher, and that the Teacher approves of that praise. Perhaps at some time or other we too may come to meet with the Venerable Puṇṇa Mantāṇiputta; perhaps there might be some occasion for conversation with him."
