[367] Then Dīgha Parajana the spirit (yakkha) approached the Blessed One; having approached, he paid homage to the Blessed One and stood to one side. Standing to one side, Dīgha Parajana the spirit said this to the Blessed One: "It is a gain, venerable sir, for the Vajjis; it is well gained, venerable sir, for the people of the Vajjis, in that the Tathāgata, the Arahant, the Fully Enlightened One, dwells here, and also these three clansmen — the Venerable Anuruddha, the Venerable Nandiya, and the Venerable Kimila."
Having heard the sound of Dīgha Parajana the spirit, the earth-dwelling devas raised the cry: "It is a gain indeed, sirs, for the Vajjis; it is well gained indeed, sirs, for the people of the Vajjis, in that the Tathāgata, the Arahant, the Fully Enlightened One, dwells here, and also these three clansmen — the Venerable Anuruddha, the Venerable Nandiya, and the Venerable Kimila."
Having heard the sound of the earth-dwelling devas, the devas of the Four Great Kings … the Tāvatiṃsa devas … the Yāma devas … the Tusita devas … the Nimmānarati devas … the Paranimmitavasavattī devas … the devas of Brahmā's retinue raised the cry: "It is a gain indeed, sirs, for the Vajjis; it is well gained indeed, sirs, for the people of the Vajjis, in that the Tathāgata, the Arahant, the Fully Enlightened One, dwells here, and also these three clansmen — the Venerable Anuruddha, the Venerable Nandiya, and the Venerable Kimila."
