[59] "It is possible (ṭhānaṃ vijjati), friend, that some bhikkhu here might conceive such a wish: 'Should I indeed commit an offense (āpatti), may a person who is my equal accuse me, not one who is not my equal.' But it is possible, friend, that a person who is not his equal accuses that bhikkhu, not one who is his equal. Thinking, 'A person who is not my equal accuses me, not one who is my equal,' he becomes angry and displeased. Friend, both that anger and that displeasure are a blemish (aṅgaṇa)."
