[69] It is possible, friend, that some bhikkhu (bhikkhu) here might have such a wish arise: "Oh, that I alone might be one who gains fine almsfood … fine lodgings … fine medicines and requisites for the sick (gilānapaccaya-bhesajja-parikkhāra), and that no other bhikkhu might gain fine medicines and requisites for the sick!" But it is possible, friend, that some other bhikkhu gains fine medicines and requisites for the sick, and that bhikkhu does not gain fine medicines and requisites for the sick. Thinking, "Another bhikkhu has gained fine medicines and requisites for the sick; I have not gained fine medicines and requisites for the sick," he becomes angry and displeased. Friend, both that anger and that displeasure are a blemish (aṅgaṇa).
Friend, this "blemish" is a designation for these evil, unwholesome spheres of wishes (icchāvacara).
