[160] Thus have I heard. On one occasion the Blessed One was dwelling at Sāvatthī, in Jeta's Grove, the park of Anāthapiṇḍika. There the Blessed One addressed the bhikkhus: "Bhikkhus." "Venerable sir," those bhikkhus replied to the Blessed One. The Blessed One said this: "Bhikkhus, I eat my meal at a single sitting (ekāsanabhojana). Eating my meal at a single sitting, bhikkhus, I perceive little affliction and little illness, lightness, strength, and a comfortable abiding. Come, bhikkhus, you too eat your meal at a single sitting. Eating your meal at a single sitting, bhikkhus, you too will perceive little affliction and little illness, lightness, strength, and a comfortable abiding."
