[205] "Friends, a forest-dwelling bhikkhu who has come to the Saṅgha and is dwelling in the Saṅgha should be skilled regarding seats, thinking: 'I shall sit down without encroaching upon the elder bhikkhus, and I shall not block the newly ordained bhikkhus from a seat.' If, friends, a forest-dwelling bhikkhu who has come to the Saṅgha and is dwelling in the Saṅgha is not skilled regarding seats, there will be those who say of him: 'What is the point of this venerable forest-dweller's dwelling alone in the wilderness at his own free will, when this venerable does not know even the rules of proper conduct (abhisamācārika dhamma)?' There will be those who say this of him. Therefore a forest-dwelling bhikkhu who has come to the Saṅgha and is dwelling in the Saṅgha should be skilled regarding seats."
