[209] "Friends, a forest-dwelling (āraññaka) bhikkhu who has come to the Saṅgha and is dwelling in the Saṅgha should not be harsh-tongued (amukhara) nor loose in speech (avikiṇṇavāca). If, friends, a forest-dwelling bhikkhu who has come to the Saṅgha and is dwelling in the Saṅgha is harsh-tongued and loose in speech, there will be those who say of him: 'What is the point of this venerable forest-dweller's dwelling alone in the forest at his own free will (serivihāra), seeing that this venerable one is harsh-tongued and loose in speech?' There will be those who say this of him. Therefore a forest-dwelling bhikkhu who has come to the Saṅgha and is dwelling in the Saṅgha should not be harsh-tongued nor loose in speech."
