[336] Furthermore, Udāyī, I have declared to my disciples the way of practice (paṭipadā), practicing in accordance with which my disciples develop the five faculties (indriya). Here, Udāyī, a bhikkhu develops the faculty of faith (saddhindriya), which leads to peace, which leads to awakening; he develops the faculty of energy … he develops the faculty of mindfulness … he develops the faculty of concentration (samādhi) … he develops the faculty of wisdom (paññindriya), which leads to peace, which leads to awakening. And therein many of my disciples dwell having attained the consummation and perfection of direct knowledge (abhiññā).
