[337] Furthermore, Udāyi, I have declared to my disciples the way of practice (paṭipadā), practicing in accordance with which my disciples develop the five powers (pañca balāni). Here, Udāyi, a bhikkhu develops the power of faith (saddhābala), which leads to peace, which leads to full awakening; he develops the power of energy … he develops the power of mindfulness … he develops the power of concentration (samādhi) … he develops the power of wisdom, which leads to peace, which leads to full awakening. And therein many of my disciples abide having attained the consummation and perfection of direct knowledge (abhiññā).
