[350] Again, Udāyī, I have declared to my disciples the way of practice, and my disciples, practicing accordingly, with the divine ear element (dibbāya sotadhātuyā) that is purified and surpassing the human, hear both kinds of sounds, the divine and the human, those that are far as well as near. Just as, Udāyī, a strong conch-blower might with little difficulty make himself heard in the four quarters, even so, Udāyī, I have declared to my disciples the way of practice, and my disciples, practicing accordingly, with the divine ear element that is purified and surpassing the human, hear both kinds of sounds, the divine and the human, those that are far as well as near. And therein many of my disciples abide, having attained the consummation and perfection of direct knowledge (abhiññā).
