[412] Then, Ānanda, the brahmin student (māṇava) Jotipāla said this to Ghaṭīkāra the potter: "Friend Ghaṭīkāra, while you hear this Dhamma, will you then go forth from the home life into homelessness?" "Friend Jotipāla, do you not know that I support my mother and father, who are blind and aged?" "Well then, friend Ghaṭīkāra, I shall go forth from the home life into homelessness."
