[602] Then, not long after the Blessed One had departed, the brahmin Brahmāyu passed away. Then a number of bhikkhus approached the Blessed One; having approached and paid homage to the Blessed One, they sat down at one side. Seated at one side, those bhikkhus said this to the Blessed One: "Venerable sir, the brahmin Brahmāyu has passed away. What is his destination? What is his future state?"
