[698] Then the Venerable Sāriputta, having dressed, taking his bowl and robe, approached the residence of the brahmin Dhanañjāni; having approached, he sat down on the seat that had been prepared. Having sat down, the Venerable Sāriputta said this to the brahmin Dhanañjāni: "Dhanañjāni, I hope you are bearing up; I hope you are getting by. I hope your painful feelings (vedanā) are subsiding, not increasing, and that their subsiding, not their increasing, is evident."
