[83] "But when, householder, were these praises of the ascetic Gotama composed by you?"
"Venerable sir, suppose there were a great heap of various flowers, and a deft garland-maker or a garland-maker's apprentice were to string it into a variegated garland. Even so, venerable sir, the Blessed One has many praiseworthy qualities, many hundreds of praiseworthy qualities. Who indeed, venerable sir, would not give praise to one worthy of praise?"
Then, unable to bear this honor shown to the Blessed One, the Nigaṇṭha Nāṭaputta spewed hot blood from his mouth right there.
