[293] Then the Blessed One, having emerged from seclusion in the evening, approached the assembly hall; having approached, he sat down on the seat prepared. Having sat down, the Blessed One addressed the bhikkhus: "Bhikkhus, for what talk are you now sitting together here? And what was your conversation that was left unfinished?"
"Here, venerable sir, after the meal, when we had returned from the alms round and were sitting assembled together in the assembly hall, this conversation arose among us: 'It is wonderful, friends, it is marvellous, friends, how mindfulness directed to the body (kāyagatā sati), when developed and made much of, has been declared by the Blessed One who knows and sees, the Accomplished One (arahant), the Fully Enlightened One, to be of great fruit and great benefit.' This, venerable sir, was our conversation that was left unfinished; and then the Blessed One arrived."
