[379] The Blessed One said: "Therefore, Ānanda, remember this too as an incredible and amazing quality of the Tathāgata. Here, Ānanda, for the Tathāgata feelings (vedanā) are known as they arise, known as they remain present, known as they go to their disappearance; perceptions are known …; thoughts (vitakka) are known as they arise, known as they remain present, known as they go to their disappearance. This too, Ānanda, you should remember as an incredible and amazing quality of the Tathāgata."
The Venerable Ānanda said: "Venerable sir, that for the Blessed One feelings are known as they arise, known as they remain present, known as they go to their disappearance; perceptions are known …; thoughts are known as they arise, known as they remain present, known as they go to their disappearance — this too, venerable sir, I remember as an incredible and amazing quality of the Blessed One."
This is what the Venerable Ānanda said. The Teacher approved. Satisfied, those bhikkhus rejoiced in the Venerable Ānanda's words.
