[388] Thus have I heard. On one occasion the Blessed One was dwelling at Rājagaha, in the Bamboo Grove (Veḷuvana), the squirrels' feeding ground. Now at that time the novice (samaṇuddesa) Aciravata was dwelling in a hut in the forest. Then Prince Jayasena, while walking and wandering about for exercise, approached the novice Aciravata; having approached, he exchanged greetings with the novice Aciravata, and when the courteous and amiable talk was concluded, he sat down to one side.
