Here, householder, a bhikkhu dwells resolved upon pervading as 'expansive' an area the extent of the root of a single tree. This, householder, is called the expansive release of mind. Again, householder, a bhikkhu dwells resolved upon pervading as 'expansive' an area the extent of two or three tree roots. This, householder, is called the expansive release of mind. Here, householder, a bhikkhu dwells resolved upon pervading as 'expansive' an area the extent of a single village district. This, householder, is called the expansive release of mind. Again, householder, a bhikkhu dwells resolved upon pervading as 'expansive' an area the extent of two or three village districts. This, householder, is called the expansive release of mind. Here, householder, a bhikkhu dwells resolved upon pervading as 'expansive' an area the extent of a single great kingdom. This, householder, is called the expansive release of mind.
