[515] Bhikkhus, there comes a time when, at some point or other, after the passing of a long period, the eastern door of that Great Hell (mahāniraya) is opened. He runs there with swift speed. As he runs with swift speed, his outer skin burns, his inner skin burns, his flesh burns, his sinews burn, and even his bones smoke; yet what is lifted up becomes just as it was before. And, bhikkhus, when he has almost arrived, that door is closed. There he feels feelings that are painful, sharp, and severe; yet he does not die so long as that evil deed is not exhausted.
