[520] Bhikkhus, immediately adjacent to that Silk-Cotton Forest is the vast Sword-Leaf Forest (asipattavana). He enters there. There the leaves, stirred by the wind, cut off his hand, cut off his foot, cut off both hand and foot; they cut off his ear, cut off his nose, cut off both ear and nose. There he feels feelings (vedanā) that are painful, sharp, and severe; yet he does not die so long as that evil deed is not exhausted.
