[533] Bhikkhus, and how is one not swept away amid presently arisen dhammas? Here, bhikkhus, a learned noble disciple — one who sees the noble ones, is skilled in the Dhamma of the noble ones, well trained in the Dhamma of the noble ones; one who sees true persons, is skilled in the Dhamma of true persons, well trained in the Dhamma of true persons — does not regard form as self, nor self as possessing form, nor form as in self, nor self as in form; does not regard feeling (vedanā) … does not regard perception … does not regard volitional formations … does not regard consciousness as self, nor self as possessing consciousness, nor consciousness as in self, nor self as in consciousness. Thus indeed, bhikkhus, is one not swept away amid presently arisen dhammas.
