Thinking, 'May my eye be thus in the future, may forms be thus,' one does not set the mind (citta) on obtaining what has not been obtained. With the non-setting of the mind as condition, one does not take delight in that. Not taking delight in that, one does not anticipate the future.
Thinking, 'May my ear be thus in the future, may sounds be thus' …
Thinking, 'May my nose be thus in the future, may odours be thus' …
Thinking, 'May my tongue be thus in the future, may tastes be thus' …
Thinking, 'May my body be thus in the future, may tangibles be thus' …
