[566] When he had stood to one side, the deity Candana said this to the Venerable Lomasakaṅgiya: "Bhikkhu, do you remember the summary (uddesa) and the analysis (vibhaṅga) of the One Who Has One Excellent Night (bhaddekaratta)?"
"Friend, I do not remember the summary and the analysis of the One Who Has One Excellent Night. But do you, friend, remember the summary and the analysis of the One Who Has One Excellent Night?"
"Bhikkhu, I too do not remember the summary and the analysis of the One Who Has One Excellent Night. But do you, bhikkhu, remember the verses on the One Who Has One Excellent Night?"
"Friend, I do not remember the verses on the One Who Has One Excellent Night. But do you, friend, remember the verses on the One Who Has One Excellent Night?"
"Bhikkhu, I do remember the verses on the One Who Has One Excellent Night."
"But in what way, friend, do you remember the verses on the One Who Has One Excellent Night?"
