[58] "And how, Ānanda, is there resolution face-to-face (sammukhāvinaya)? Here, Ānanda, bhikkhus dispute: 'This is the Dhamma,' or 'This is not the Dhamma,' 'This is the Vinaya,' or 'This is not the Vinaya.' Those bhikkhus, Ānanda, all in harmony, having assembled, should thoroughly go over the guideline of the Dhamma (dhammanetti); having gone over the guideline of the Dhamma, they should settle that disciplinary issue (adhikaraṇa) in the way that accords with it there. Thus, Ānanda, there is resolution face-to-face. And thus there is the settlement of certain disciplinary issues here, namely, by resolution face-to-face."
