Dakkhiṇāvibhaṅgasutta

Suttapiṭaka · Majjhimanikāya · Vol. 14 · Section 716

[716] "And how, Ānanda, is an offering (dakkhiṇā) purified by the recipient, not by the giver? Here, Ānanda, the giver is unvirtuous, of evil character, while the recipients are virtuous, of good character. Thus indeed, Ānanda, an offering is purified by the recipient, not by the giver."
