[849] Again, furthermore, Sāriputta, a bhikkhu should reflect thus: 'Have I developed the Noble Eightfold Path (ariya aṭṭhaṅgika magga)?' If, Sāriputta, a bhikkhu, reviewing, knows thus: 'I have not developed the Noble Eightfold Path,' then, Sāriputta, that bhikkhu should strive for the development of the Noble Eightfold Path. But if, Sāriputta, a bhikkhu, reviewing, knows thus: 'I have developed the Noble Eightfold Path,' then, Sāriputta, that bhikkhu should dwell with that very rapture (pīti) and gladness, training day and night in wholesome dhammas.
