[317] Then the young deva (devaputta) Ākoṭaka, referring to the various sectarians (titthiya), spoke this verse in the presence of the Blessed One: "Pakudhaka Kātiyāna, the Nigaṇṭha, and these too — Makkhali and Pūraṇa — teachers of companies, who have attained renown: surely they are not far from superior persons (sappurisa)."
