[495] "The steadfast one, endowed with resolution,
a meditator ever delighting in jhāna,
applying himself day and night,
with no longing for life —
having conquered the army of Death,
not coming back to renewed existence,
having drawn out craving (taṇhā) together with its root,
Godhika has attained final Nibbāna."
From him, overcome by sorrow,
the lute dropped from his armpit;
then that dejected yakkha
vanished right on the spot.
