[562] This is what Brahmā Sahampati said. Having said this, he further said this:
"Those Fully Awakened Ones (sambuddhā) of the past,
those Buddhas yet to come,
and he who is now the Fully Awakened One,
dispeller of the sorrow of many—
all dwelt revering the true Dhamma (saddhamma),
they dwell so now,
and so too will they dwell:
this is the natural law (dhammatā) of Buddhas.
Therefore one who loves himself,
aspiring to greatness,
should revere the true Dhamma,
remembering the teaching (sāsana) of the Buddhas."
