[628] Then the brahmin of the Bhāradvāja clan, angry and displeased, approached the Blessed One; having approached, he exchanged greetings with the Blessed One, and when the courteous, memorable talk had been concluded, he sat down to one side. Sitting to one side, the brahmin of the Bhāradvāja clan addressed the Blessed One in verse:
"Having slain what does one sleep at ease?
Having slain what does one not sorrow?
What is the one thing (ekadhamma), O Gotama,
whose killing you approve?"
