[750] "Yes, venerable sir," the Venerable Vaṅgīsa replied to the Blessed One, and to an even greater measure he extolled the Blessed One with verses not previously thought out:
"Having vanquished Māra's hundred devious paths,
you fare on, having shattered the barrenness of mind (khīla);
see him, the one who works release from bondage,
unattached, dividing [the Dhamma] part by part.
For the sake of crossing over the flood (ogha)
he declared the path (magga) in its manifold forms;
and when that Deathless (amata) had been declared,
the seers of the Dhamma stood firm, immovable.
The maker of light, having pierced through the Dhamma,
saw the transcending of all views (diṭṭhi);
having known it and having realized it, he taught the supreme ten states.
When the Dhamma has been so well taught, what negligence could there be among those who understand?
Therefore, indeed, in that Blessed One's dispensation (sāsana),
heedful, ever paying homage, one should train."
