[752] Then it occurred to the Venerable Vaṅgīsa: "This Venerable Aññākoṇḍañña, after a very long time indeed, has approached the Blessed One; having approached and bowed down with his head at the Blessed One's feet, he kisses the Blessed One's feet with his mouth and strokes them with his hands, and he announces his name: 'I am Koṇḍañña, Blessed One! I am Koṇḍañña, Fortunate One (Sugata)!' Suppose I were to extol the Venerable Aññākoṇḍañña in the presence of the Blessed One with fitting verses."
Then the Venerable Vaṅgīsa rose from his seat, arranged his upper robe over one shoulder, raised his joined palms in reverence toward the Blessed One, and said this to the Blessed One: "An inspiration comes to me, Blessed One! An inspiration comes to me, Fortunate One!"
The Blessed One said: "Let it come to you, Vaṅgīsa."
