[309] Dwelling at Sāvatthī … There the Blessed One … "Bhikkhus, by one not knowing, not seeing aging and death (jarāmaraṇa) as it really is (yathābhūta), a teacher (satthā) should be sought for knowledge (ñāṇa) of aging and death as it really is. By one not knowing, not seeing the origin of aging and death as it really is, a teacher should be sought for knowledge of the origin of aging and death as it really is. By one not knowing, not seeing the cessation of aging and death as it really is, a teacher should be sought for knowledge of the cessation of aging and death as it really is. By one not knowing, not seeing the way of practice (paṭipadā) leading to the cessation of aging and death as it really is, a teacher should be sought for knowledge of the way of practice leading to the cessation of aging and death as it really is."
