[308] Thus have I heard. … They do not understand birth … they do not understand existence (bhava) … they do not understand clinging (upādāna) … they do not understand craving (taṇhā) … they do not understand feeling (vedanā) … they do not understand contact (phassa) … they do not understand the six sense bases (saḷāyatana) … they do not understand name-and-form (nāmarūpa) … they do not understand consciousness … they do not understand volitional formations, they do not understand the origin of volitional formations, they do not understand the cessation of volitional formations, they do not understand the way of practice leading to the cessation of volitional formations … … having realized it for themselves with direct knowledge, they enter upon and dwell in it.
