[95] Bhikkhus, whatever ascetics or brahmins fully understand aging-and-death, fully understand the origin of aging-and-death, fully understand the cessation of aging-and-death, fully understand the way of practice leading to the cessation of aging-and-death; fully understand birth … existence … clinging … craving (taṇhā) … feeling (vedanā) … contact … the six sense bases (āyatana) … name-and-form … consciousness … fully understand volitional formations, fully understand the origin of volitional formations, fully understand the cessation of volitional formations, fully understand the way of practice leading to the cessation of volitional formations — these ascetics or brahmins, bhikkhus, are acknowledged as ascetics among ascetics and acknowledged as brahmins among brahmins; and these venerable ones, having realized for themselves with direct knowledge, in this very life, the goal of asceticism and the goal of brahminhood, dwell having entered upon it.
