[314] So too, bhikkhus, for a noble disciple (ariyasāvaka), a person accomplished in view (diṭṭhisampanna) who has made the breakthrough (abhisametāvin), the suffering (dukkha) that has been destroyed and exhausted is by far the greater; what remains is trifling — namely, the state of having at most seven more existences (sattakkhattuparamatā) — and it does not amount to a hundredth part, nor to a thousandth part, nor to a hundred-thousandth part, when compared with the former mass of suffering that has been destroyed and exhausted. Of such great benefit, bhikkhus, is the breakthrough to the Dhamma (dhammābhisamaya); of such great benefit is the obtaining of the eye of the Dhamma (dhammacakkhu).
