[361] On one occasion the Blessed One was dwelling at Ñātika, in the Brick House (Giñjakāvasathe). There the Blessed One addressed the bhikkhus: "Bhikkhus." "Venerable sir," those bhikkhus replied to the Blessed One. The Blessed One said this: "Bhikkhus, in dependence on an element (dhātu) there arises a perception, there arises a view (diṭṭhi), there arises a thought (vitakka)."
