[21] And how, householder, does one not anticipate the future (apurakkharāno)? Here, householder, it does not occur to someone thus: 'May I be of such form (rūpa) in the future; may I be of such feeling (vedanā) in the future; may I be of such perception (saññā) in the future; may I be of such volitional formations (saṅkhārā) in the future; may I be of such consciousness (viññāṇa) in the future.' Thus indeed, householder, one does not anticipate the future.
