[233] "Bhikkhus, I will teach you the way of practice (paṭipadā) that is conducive (sappāya) to Nibbāna. Listen to it. … And what, bhikkhus, is that way of practice conducive to Nibbāna? Here, bhikkhus, a bhikkhu sees the eye thus: 'It is suffering (dukkha)'; he sees forms thus: 'They are suffering'; he sees eye-consciousness thus: 'It is suffering'; he sees eye-contact (cakkhusamphassa) thus: 'It is suffering'; and whatever feeling (vedanā) arises with eye-contact as condition — whether pleasant, painful, or neither-painful-nor-pleasant — that too he sees thus: 'It is suffering.' … He sees the tongue thus: 'It is suffering.' … He sees the mind thus: 'It is suffering'; he sees mental phenomena (dhammā) thus: 'They are suffering'; he sees mind-consciousness thus: 'It is suffering'; he sees mind-contact thus: 'It is suffering'; and whatever feeling arises with mind-contact as condition — whether pleasant, painful, or neither-painful-nor-pleasant — that too he sees thus: 'It is suffering.' This, bhikkhus, is that way of practice conducive to Nibbāna."
